AWS Success Stories

Otis: Bill and Jerri had lost their 2 boxers within just a few months of each other. They called an AWS member to say that they were ready to share their home with another boxer. As luck would have it just a few days later we received a call from a woman saying she and her husband were splitting up and neither could take Otis. Bill and Jerri were called and they went to see him that same day. It was love at first sight. They went back the next day and took him home. Otis has some physical scars from past abuse but he's a happy boy in his new, loving home.
Snow: Charlotte lost her elderly terrier suddenly several months ago. When she was ready for another companion she called an AWS member to say she would like a small dog. It took several weeks but we got a call about a little white Peke that had been turned out because his owners decided they no longer wanted a dog. This little guy wanted company so badly he wandered into a neighbor's house through their cat door. When they came home they found him curled up on a chair asleep. He was thin, covered with fleas and had some open sores on his skin. Since they couldn't keep him they called another neighbor who called an AWS member she knew. Now Charlotte, and her granddaughter Kaylinn treat Snow like the little prince he is.
Gem: Mary Sue was looking for a small dog for her parents when she heard about Gem from an AWS member. Gem's owner gave her up for unexplained reasons to someone she knew. This lady couldn't keep Gem because she had a dog of her own. However, she had Gem spayed and called AWs to help her find a new home for this sweet little dog. Mary Sue was contacted and went to see Gem. However, she decided to take Gem home with her as a companion for her son, Tommy and her Poodle, Abby. Gem has had a number of health problems but Mary Sue has been an excellent mom and Gem is on the road to recovery. Meanwhile her parents are still looking.....
